Arden White

November 21, 1953 — June 10, 2021

It's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, Arden Blair White, 67, was a devoted family man, social worker and friend to many. Arden died peacefully June 10th, surrounded by family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Arden is survived by the love of his life, Debby (Pastuck) White; children, Raymond (Terri-Leigh), Tyrra and Stacey; grandchildren, Rayann, James, Aiden, and Sasha; great-grandson, Rayden. Arden was born in New Waterford, Nov. 21, 1953 to Hector and Norma (Forrest) White. Siblings, Heckie (Judy), Ilona (Jerome), Brian, Vern (Sari), Layne (Joshlon) and Leah (Paul); In-laws, Sandra and Raymond Pastuck, Kevin (Betty-Ann), Ronnie and Weldie (Catherine).

Arden enjoyed fastball and with many accomplishments as a pitcher was inducted into the Cape Breton Hall of Fame in 2010. He also enjoyed camping at Black Rock and fishing, especially in the Cape Breton Highlands. Arden always found the 'silver lining' in every situation or obstacle. That's why family, friends and even strangers leaned on him in time of need. Even in his final days Arden was preparing his wife, children, family and friends for his departure. Arden's big blue eyes could light up a room or scare you into doing the right thing. He loved to laugh, joke and torment. Arden also loved to chat and joked it was ironic his voice was taken from him in the weeks before he crossed over. Arden will be deeply missed by all that new him. "If you weren't friends with Arden it's simply because your paths have not crossed yet".

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date when Covid restrictions are lifted. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cape Breton Transition House or Whitney Pier Boys and Girls Club. Special thanks to the staff in the palliative care unit, Inspired program and all our family and friends.
