Bernadette MacGillivray

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother on March 7, 2021 at the home of her daughter and best friend Patricia MacKinnon in New Glasgow at the age of 83. She was the daughter of the late Angus P and Catherine MacNeil. Mom worked for many years at the Braemar home in Sydney River. She loved music, playing the guitar and going to Bingo.

She is survived by her only daughter Patricia (Darrell) MacKinnon; sons Arnold (Sandra) Aucoin and Sheldon (Kay) Aucoin as well as a sister Josephine Butts. She will be missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her Husband James MacGillivray, as well as her son Wilfred & his wife Linda Aucoin; sisters Mary Catherine, Annie Florence; Mella and Mary “Nisha”; brothers Reggie, Willie, Johnny Angus, Ronnie and Freddie.

Thank you to all the doctors, nurses, home care workers who looked after mom during these difficult years.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Forest Haven. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at a later date.
