The family of Bernard Alexander Petrie regretfully announce his passing on September 24, 2020 at the Glace Bay Hospital.  Born July 31, 1943 to the late Protase & Rita (MacKinnon) Petrie of Dominion, NS.

Bernie was retired from Devco and Cape Breton Commissionaires.  He was a proud leader of Bridgeport/Dominion Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margie (MacDonald) and daughter, Nadine (Calgary) and son Kyle (Dominion); his grandchildren, David, Alexander and Maysun who were his pride and joy; his sisters,  Lori Gilbert, Diane (Martin) Gillis, Gail Burke; sister-in-law, Theresa Petrie and Donna Gillis.  He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew (Pete), his sisters, Judy, Marie; sister-in-laws Barbara Gleason and Wilma MacDonald; brother-in-laws, Verne Gilbert, Keith Burke, Robbie Gillis and Emerson Gleason; mother & father-in-law, Ken & Gladys MacDonald.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven and graveside burial will be held at a later date at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.  In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Society.
