Charles Hugh MacKenzie

Charles Hugh MacKenzie (Sonny) passed away on February 4th, 2025. Born Nov 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Charles MacKenzie and Pliney MacDonald.

Dad worked many years at Massey Ferguson and Spaulding tending bar. In his spare time he was a crib player and a die-hard Leaf and Blue Jays fan.

Dad is rejoined with his loving wife Catherine Teresa Farrell and his two sons John and Larry.

Sonny will be sadly missed by his sons Chuck and Rick as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his loyal companion Blue. There will be an empty chair at many crib tables with his sarcastic personality.

Sonny asked to be cremated and for his friends not to mourn his passing, but to enjoy a drink and some jokes and to celebrate his fabulous life and achievements. Special thanks to everyone at Neils Harbour, Inverness and Baddeck Hospitals, the doctors and nurses, as well as the first responders who helped make Dads final days so peaceful and comforting.
