Born in Sydney on Dec 6, 1942, he was a son of the late John and Sophie (MacDonald) Baxter.
Charlie was self employed and knew most everyone who walked through the door of his Dorchester Street “Northend Dairy” where he dedicated himself for more than 18 years until his retirement. He was also an integral part of the former Elks Club in Sydney for many years.
A Mira was a special place for him as he loved to spend time with his family where he could overlook the beautiful river.
Charlie is survived by his son Tracey, Whitehorse; daughter Kerry (Joe Landry) MacVicar, Albert Bridge; grandchildren Mayra, Emily, Taylor and Brandon; sister Beverly Martell, Maine as well as special nephew Gordon; aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be missed by his RCL Branch 12 friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his former wife & life friend Carole Anne; brother-in-law Dennis Martell and nephew Kevin. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Charlie’s life will take place from 2-5 pm, Saturday, February 8 at the Mira Boat Club.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors & nurses of both the CCU and Palliative Care Units for their kindness and compassion.
