John Colin McDaniel
July 30, 1946 ~ April 29, 2021
Colin’s years of struggle ended April 29th , 2021 when his daily prayer of 3 Hail Marys in
honour of the Blessed Mother for a happy death was answered.
His legacy of strong trust in God and acceptance of trials he had faced is something his
children Trevor, Tammy (Darren), Callum (Katie) and Mark (Carolyn) will hold close to
their hearts, while emulating this to his grandchildren Dylan, Matthew, Georgia, Rowen,
Carly, Hannah, Finley and great grandchild, Vennah.
Port Hood is where Colin and Hughena raised their family while Colin always held a
special place in his heart for his childhood home in Brook Village. A dedicated husband,
father and provider, the sacrifice of being gone months at a time working in the mining
industry across Canada exemplified the love he had for his family.
Hughena’s passing 3 years ago was difficult for Colin but faith reassures us they are
reunited along with his infant daughter Mary; parents Bill and Marie; and brothers Matt,
Clarence, Sam and Ronnie.
Colin had a positive impact on many especially his sisters Mary Claire (Charlie) and
Elizabeth (Wayne), brothers Gerry (Cheryl) and Francis (Anne Marie) who will feel a void
not seeing their older brother make his frequent drop-ins.
He was able to fight as hard as he did because of the support and care from the special
staff at the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital.
Being in the presence of God is the reward Colin always longed for.
Love to our new Guardian Angel ~ What Will Be, Will Be.
