Delores (Gardiner) LeBlanc - Dominion
With broken hearts we say goodbye to our wonderful sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
Delores, aged 72, passed away at the home of her sister, surrounded by her family on July 1, 2020. Born July 9, 1947 she was predeceased by her parents Richard Gardiner and Eunice (Muise) Gardiner McLean of Glace Bay as well as her step father Allie McLean of Glace Bay.
Delores is survived by her sister Carol (Gerald) McVeigh, Dominion; brothers Gerald (Dorothy) Gardiner, Raymond, Ab and Archie (Susan) McLean of Glace Bay. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and numerous cousins and friends.
Delores worked at Mount St. Vincent Mother House for a number of years. She was self-employed for a few years at the Fina Gas Station in Sydney River. She also worked at the People’s store in Glace Bay and retired after several years as a Personal Care Worker in Dominion. Delores was an avid Blue Jays Fan and an excellent dart shooter. Although she had three 180 scores, she always said she was only there for the beer. She was a long time bowler with the ladies Tuesday afternoon bowling leagues at Knox Lanes in Glace Bay and loved playing cards with family and friends.
Special thanks to the Home Care staff, VON Nurses and the Palliative Care Team for providing such excellent care for Delores and the kind support shown to her family. It was greatly appreciated. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.foresthaven.ca
