Dieudonné "Donné" Richard Frison
May 18, 1946 — March 28, 2024
Sydney
Dieudonné Richard Frison (1946-2024) died peacefully on March 28. Born in England at the end of the Second World War, he was raised in Reserve Mines by “Big Donné” and “Andy”, surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his wife Margaret; children Mark, Monique, Wayde, Scott and Jodi; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Karl and sister Hilda; cousins Marie, Frankie, Julie and Frisons far and wide.
He will be remembered as the former Executive Director of the Sydney Boys and Girls Club, a softball coach, truck driver and Project Adventure employee and ropes course builder. He sought to learn throughout his life, returning to university as an adult, and eventually earning a Masters of Adult Education from St. Francis Xaiver University. Always interested in his family’s history, he sought out distant cousins in Belgium and England.
If there is an afterlife, he will be teaching everyone how to bunt, napping on a sofa and sitting around a kitchen table with his parents, drinking beer, playing guitar and listening to his father sing.
A gathering in Donné's honour will be held on Thusday, May 30th from 2pm-4pm at the Reserve Mines Pensioner's Club, at 165 Main Street in Reserve Mines.
