It is with broken hearts the family announce the peaceful passing of their dear brother and beloved uncle Stewart. During his lengthy battle with kidney disease, “the monster” in true fashion put up the biggest fight. When he finally grew tired, he decided it was time to rest.
Stewart spent his entire life on the ocean, where he gained his famous nickname “the monster” because he would do many things most wouldn’t, or couldn’t. Stewart had the biggest heart and his love for animals was evident especially with his little cat Smokey, she will certainly miss his belly rubs.
Stewart was predeceased by his parents Donald John and Lillian (Maclean), his sister Linda, brother Malcolm, and nephew Michael. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Richard), brother John (Lisa) and his new found sister Jane (Duncan). Stewart had no children, but every child he met, he left a lasting impact on them, they never left a visit without some sort of treat. He had many nieces and nephews whom he adored like his own, Amy, Chrissy, Kyla, Brandon, Mathew, Leanne, Michelle, and Kelsey along with many great nieces and nephews
Stewart was loved by so many people, we as his family are so grateful to each and every one of you for being there and helping him or giving him a laugh when he needed it.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time. As his request he will spend eternity where he always felt at peace, Gabarus ocean.
Donations can be made to the Renal Clinic at the CBRH or the Kidney Foundation
May you be at peace now, with the sun always on you and the ocean as your bed
