Dwayne Power

With broken hearts we sadly announce the sudden passing of Dwayne Daniel Power on Aug 21, 2021. Born June 5, 1970 he called New Victoria and New Waterford, NS home. Dwayne was a Oil Pipeline Insulator by trade and travelled many miles back and forth to Alberta for employment.

Dwayne was truly one of a kind. So dedicated to all his family and friends, he had your back no matter what. Leaving a profound impact on everyone he knew and loved. Him smiling, laughing, being funny  was so contagious the whole room would be laughing. There was never a dull moment with Dwayne around.

Dwayne was also an accomplished drummer playing in school bands in his younger years then in several bands as an adult. Most recently a 5 yr member of Full Circle Cape Breton who are not only a band but a true family. Dwayne behind his kit with "Animal" out front pounding on those skins making beautiful music that was his true happy place. And boy could he play. Dwayne and Full Circle filling the dance floor at every booking. All of our hearts are broken and missing him dearly including "our little girl" fur baby Luna whom he loved so much. Dwayne is survived by his partner Shauna Gracie, Stepdaughter Briauna Gracie, Mother in Law Irene Clarke, The Clarke Family. Also surviving are two Uncles George Sweeney Sr. and Bobby Sweeney, Aunt Jackie O'Flaherty, cousins Kenny, Bernadine, Kevin, Keith, Leonard, and Gwendolyn O' Flaherty, Darren and Wayne Sweeney.

Dwayne is predeceased by his Mother Sharon (Sandy) Power, Grandmother Bernadette MacGillvary, Uncle Martin Sweeney and Baby girl Alita Dianne Moores.

Cremation has taken place. A service will be held at St Leonard’s Parish 3180 Mt. Carmel Ave. New Waterford on Saturday September 11,2021 at 9:30 am. With  immediate burial to follow in New Victoria Cemetary.
