Eva MacDonald

It is with profound sadness, that we, the family of Eva Catherine (MacKenzie)
MacDonald, announce her passing on June 7, 2021, in the An Cala Unit of the Cape
Breton Regional Hospital.
Mom was born in Glace Bay, February 22, 1933 to the late Walter and Eleanor
(Toomey) MacKenzie formerly of the Table Head area. She was a loving wife to her late
husband, Robert MacDonald, and a loving mother to her children; a loving grandmother
and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Norine (Barry Nygard), Gail MacDonald, Kathy (Bill
Gosse), John and Jim (Kim); as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters, Ginger, Dolly and Diana as well as numerous nieces
and nephews. Beside her parents and some siblings, she was predeceased by her son
Robert Bruce (Robbie) in 1985 and her husband Robert in 1995.
Mom was an active Jehovah’s Witness for over 55 years and loved sharing her faith
with all to whom she spoke.
We would like to thank the nursing staff at An Cala for their wonderful care while Mom
was a patient there; also the care and compassion of Dr. D’Intino of An Cala and Mom’s
palliative care nurse, Brett.
A memorial service will be conducted via Zoom on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 2pm. To
