James Clarke

It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family of James Edward Clarke of New Waterford, NS regret to announce his passing on May 9, 2021. Born in Newfoundland on Feb. 9, 1944 he was the son of Lillian and Maxie Clarke. James moved to Cape Breton at an early age. He worked for Devco for over 30 years.  On his days off he enjoyed spending time with his family, going fishing and hunting. James is survived by his wife Sheila (Cummings), son Chesley, daughter Darlene and his sisters Brenda and Marjorie. James has two beautiful granddaughters, Jessica and Kayleigh who will miss him dearly.

James was predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Maxie, his sisters Ethel and Louise, his brothers George, Mackie, Dave, Ralph and Robby.

James was loved by all who knew him. His ‘quick smile’ will be sadly missed.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the QE11 in Halifax and the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital for their care and kindness shown to James during his illness.
