Joanne Bonnar

We, the family, regret to announce the sudden passing of Joanne Bonnar, on January 7th, 2025, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in NFLD, she was the daughter of John (Jack) and Goldine Feener.

A beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a woman with a huge heart and a kind soul. Her home was always welcoming, she loved company, and loved to chat. Most of all she enjoyed spending her time with family, especially on Sundays for dinner. She never missed an opportunity to have her children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren all together for a big family dinner. Joanne, many years ago, worked at Smiths Bakery, San Francisco Gift Shop, and most recently, housekeeping for many families in the area. 

Joanne is survived by her beloved husband, Lorne; her brothers, Melvin (Connie) and Barry (Marie); her children, Troy (Heather) and Lorne (Nicole); her grandchildren, Jonathan (Audrianna), Vanessa (Matt), Amber (Scott), Kendra (Devon), Kyle, Kurtis (Treze), Hailey (Kail), Samantha, and Shaun; and her great grandchildren, Lillian, Levi, and a third on the way. She will be greatly missed by many brother in laws, sister in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joanne was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Goldine; her daughter, Tabatha;her sister, Trudy; and brothers, Les and Johnnie.

A celebration of life for Joanne will be announced at a later date. As per Joanne’s wishes, there will not be a wake or funeral held.
