It is with tremendous sorrow and broken hearts that the Family of Jody Lillian Mackinnon announces her passing. Jody was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. People who met Jody and entered into her sphere felt a little more special and enriched afterwards from her honest, kind and sincere energy. Those who were fortunate enough to have been loved by her were loved deeply and unconditionally. Jody was such a gentle soul and those who knew her were captivated by her smile and big blue eyes.
Jody showed such grace and strength, never once complaining about the circumstance she found herself in. She always remained positive and optimistic when things weren't easy. She had such moxie and fought until her last breath. Her Faith was so very strong and steadfast, Saved by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Jody took nothing for granted. She loved seeing each Sunrise and each Sunset. She loved Fullmoon nights and making Moon water. She loved campfires and starry nights with her Children sitting in her lap cuddling watching the flames flicker.
Being out in Nature was where Jody loved to be. She enjoyed feeding her pet crows daily. She loved Hiking, Camping, Hunting and Fishing. She enjoyed splitting firewood and even did so during her pregnancies to the dismay of some which made her chuckle. Jody was a splendid mixture of beauty, grit, kindness and determination and many see those same qualities in her Children. The Children are their mom through and through.
She loved Summer and when she wasn't working with Parks Canada she could be found in her Garden or at the Beach Collecting Beach Glass with her children. Jody often said, "that her greatest accomplishment and gift was becoming a Mother", her Children were her Universe.
Jody grew up in Valley Mills and Orangedale and spoke fondly of her Childhood. She had so many great memories of her friends and of her Grandparents whom she loved dearly, Gordon and Doris Cummings.
Jody is survived by her Soul Mate and Love of her life, her husband Jerome, her 2 beautiful children Wynter and Darra, father Duncan MacKinnon, mother and step-father Carmeline (Gerald) Jones, sister Crystal MacKinnon, sister-in-law Jennifer Fraser, and brother-in-law Colin Fraser, many Aunts and Uncles, she will be especially missed by her Aunt Madeline, as well as numerous cousins and friends. Jody was predeceased by our son Timothy Duncan Fraser.
Mommy, through all your trials and tribulations you are finally Resting in Peace. You have been such an inspiration and have inspired so many with your Will and determination to continue moving forward no matter what life threw your way. You always kept hope alive and we thank you for that. We may have only had you in our life for a short period but we shared and expressed 1000 years worth of love for each other and as Wynter said, you were so great we had to share you with those in Heaven. You are free now and that brings us solace. You were one of a kind, a gem and Special in a way words don't do justice. Our Lilly of the Valley, You are Our Guardian Angel now..

Psalm 96:11-12
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it. Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
