John Arthur Edmund Gilmet

John ‘Art’ Edmund Gilmet, born September 15^th 1953, at the age of 69 passed away April 14, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.  Art was predeceased by his parents John Jack and Bessie (Yorke) Gilmet and his sister Bernadette Hearn.

Survived by his two sons, John (Linda) & Josh (Sierra), grandchildren; Matthew, Alyssa, Devon, Damon and Major.  He is also survived by his siblinigs; Jackie, Dave, Eddie (Sheila), Patricia (Archie) Campbell, Jack (Sandy), Liz (Barry) Cormier, Roy (Linda), Debbie (Bruce) MacDougall, Carol (Eric) Leblanc and 7 great grandchildren, as well as his friends and close neighbours; Donna, Rocky and Mrs. Weatherby.

Cremation has taken place under the guidance of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens & Crematory, a family celebration to take place at a later date.
