It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, John Michael "Bo" MacPhee age 68, on March 15, 2023 at home surrounded by those he loved.
Born on August 17, 1954 in Islandview, he was the son of the late Johnny and Eileen (Cameron) MacPhee.
Forever known as the little man with the big heart, he enjoyed the simple things in life. A skilled mechanic, he was most at home in his garage, turning a wrench on endless projects, riding his Harley, or creating unique folk art from odds and ends. But one of his greatest joys was sharing songs and music with those he loved. Always captivating the room with his signature guitar picking, he would sing the stories of his favorites, Kris Kristofferson and John Prine, as if they were his own. This beloved family tradition has become one of his greatest legacies.
Besides his loving wife of 44 years, Brenda, who cared for him selflessly throughout his long illness, he is survived by his three children, whom he cherished, Shellie Ann ( Bill), Billy (Angela), and Danielle (Brent), along with his 6 grandchildren who were the light of his life, Destiny Dawn, Hannah Rose, Connor James, Cassie Christine, Norma Lee, and Lyla Rae.
He is also survived by his brother in law and best friend, Bill (Chilly) MacMillan and sister in law Norma Lee, as well as several special lifelong friends.
The MacPhee family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his palliative care team for their care and compassion in his final days, especially Dr Burns, Dr Ritter, and his nurse Leah Burns.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens and Crematory. Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will be held on Monday March 20th, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Leonards Catholic Church, New Waterford.
For now we take comfort in the words of his favorite artist, Kris Kristofferson
"Here comes that rainbow again."
