John "JJ" Gracie

We regret to announce the passing of John Joseph "JJ" Gracie on January 7, 2021 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care. Born and raised in Glace Bay, JJ enjoyed his job at the fish plant where everyone loved him. He was an avid walker and was often seen walking with Francine. He was also the last surviving member of his immediate family.

JJ is survived by his life companion, Francine and her sisters Cathy McNeil, Freda Kennedy and Alice Swan; niece Annie Mae MacLean as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens and a graveside service will take place in the spring. Donations in JJ's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Harbourstone Enhanced care for their kindness and compassion.
