John "Johnny" King

It is with a sad heart that the family of Johnny King announce the passing of their beloved brother who passed away peacefully on March 26, 2021 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Little Bras d’Or, Johnny was the son of the late John Henry King and Catherine Ethel (Swan) King.

He is survived by brothers David (Joyce), Eldridge (Ethel), sisters Verna and Wanda (Roddie).  Johnny was predeceased by his wife Sheila (Tremblett) King and only son John James (Johnny Jr.) King.  Johnny leaves behind 4 beautiful grandchildren; Jordan, Kelsey, Maddison and Keyona and many nieces and nephews.

Johnny worked for 45 years as an auto body repair technician at Bras d’Or Auto Body Marine and Recreation alongside his brother David. He loved working with cars and restoring them to their original beauty. He offered great customer service and conversation to clients. He spent many weekends making memories with his cousins who were always welcomed in his home.  Johnny enjoyed spending his spare time with his brother Eldridge working on some project or joking around in Eldridge’s garage. He always offered a helping hand to his sisters Verna and Wanda. He had many friends who will miss his caring nature and kind heart.

At Johnny’s request cremation has taken place under the care of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. A celebration will take place at a later time at the Bras d’Or cemetery. Donations in Johnny’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
