It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lloyd George of Westmount at An Cala, Palliative Care, on May 2, 2024. Born December 23, 1946, he was a son of the late Josephine (Ayre) and Wilson George.
He was a member of Sydney River United Protestant Church. He worked for 30 years at Sydney Steel, and at various jobs after the plant closed. He and Susan enjoyed many trips south as well as cruises, and several trips to Calgary to visit their kids and grandkids. He loved seeing the Rocky Mountains.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Gray), children Laura (Wilfred) MacLean and their children Leigh and Wraelyn. Lloyd (Krista) and their children Jaxon and Bennett, Brianna (Zack) Deveaux, Shayna, and Adam (Lisa) , biological daughter Ashley Pittman and furry friends Ebony and Karl. Brother Brian, sister in law Raylene, brother in law Stephen (Bonnie) Gray, parents in law Horace and Frances Gray. And several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Edward, sister in law Germaine, and brother in law David Gray.
There will be no visitation per his wishes. Celebration of life will be held at the United Protestant Church in Sydney River on Wednesday May 8, 2024 at 2pm. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
Donations may be made to the CB Cancer Patient Care fund, or CB Hospice/ Palliative Care. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors on An Cala especially Jessica, Renee, Deanna and Mykala. The community palliative care team. Kristen from Medigas for her many trips to the house, and the paramedics that were so wonderful to us when we needed them. And any others we forgot to mention.
