Marie "Yvonne" Martell

We, the family of YvonneMartell, affectionately known as grandma, sadly announce her passing on Feb. 5, 2022, at the age of 93.Yvonne was born in Chéticamp, N.S. to Bernard and Elizabeth Muise.Yvonne's life was her family and her faith, she was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 81 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle(Ron) Newcombe, Monique(Rob) Mosher, and her only granddaughter, Thea Newcombe, who she loved dearly. Also survived by her nephews, John and George Glushko and her sister-in-law, Lucy Bersuk.

She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Lamont, and her brothers, Ernest and Raymond Muise.Yvonne spent the past 20 years in Vista Heights apartment building, overlooking Sydney Harbour, and always enjoyed doing puzzles with her friends there. She always appreciated her special group of friends that she spoke on the phone with everyday. Grandma loved the phone !

As per Yvonne's wishes there will be no visitation. A memorial talk will be held Friday, Feb. 11 at 7p.m. via Zoom.

The cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
