Nancy Strong, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024 at the age of 65 in the Glace Bay General Hospital. Born in 1958, to William and Charlotte Green (nee MacLean) Nancy was known for her warmth, generosity, unyielding spirit and her love for animals.
Nancy is survived by her three sons, Aiden (Kobra), Michael (Wanda), and Kyle (Nicole), and her cherished grandchildren, Connor, Regan, Courtney, Nikki, and Taylor. Her fur babies Bella, Marley and Jasper. She also leaves behind her brother, Barry Green (Diane) and their son Terry, her sister, Susan Lavigne (Randy) and their children Sarah and Ross, who will forever remember her with love. Also left to mourn her loss are her special friends Nancy, Lynette, Denice and Melissa who were always there for her as well as her chosen granddaughter’s Jordan, Courtney, Karlie, Abby, Anna, and Ava , many close cousins, work boys and countless friends.
Together with her late husband Otto, who passed away in 2015, Nancy built a thriving business that was a cornerstone of the community. Their work kept countless families warm through the years, a testament to their dedication and hard work.
Outside of her business, Nancy had a deep love for the simple joys of life. She was an avid knitter, often found with needles in hand, crafting beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Her interest in arts and crafts was a reflection of her creative spirit, always eager to learn and try new things.
At her request no visitation will be held. Burial in Forest Havens Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton hospital foundation.
