It is with heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Norma Anne (Keigan) Delaney, 75, on August 30, 2019 in the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Norman and Lexie (MacKinnon) Keigan. She was a woman of great strength; overcoming numerous health issues, while always worrying about others. She loved family gatherings and Christmas was her favourite time of the year. She is survived by her loving husband, Harold; children, Brenda (Dan) St. John, Truro, Dougie (Paulette), Sydney, Gary (Beatrice), Inverness, Karen (John) Hawco, Sydney; daughter-in-law, Debbie, Sydney; grandchildren, Tara (Sandro) De Leonardis, Christopher, Cheryl (Bryce) Hollis, Aaron, Brittney, Ryley, Kortney, Taylor, Ali and Kaysen; great-grandchildren, Broady, Lilly, Pyper and Alexander. Also left to mourn are her sisters, Evelyn (Harvey) Timmons, Patsy (Ambrose) Lewis, Elaine MacLeod, Faye (Karron) MacLeod; brother, Greg (Wendy) Keigan, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. Norma is also survived by in-laws, Lawrence (Lorraine), Greg (Avril), Arthur (Kathy) and Beverly Veldhuis. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Cheryl Lynn. A celebration of Norma’s life will be held Tuesday, September 3 (today) at 2 p.m. in Bethel United Church, Marion Bridge with Rev. Stephen Mills officiating. Committal to follow in Oakfield Cemetery. Donations may be made to the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or the Cape Breton Hospice Society. A Special thank you to the An Cala Unit and the ICU for their care and compassion. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Haven.
