Paul Edward Coady

A resident of Vista Heights apartments in Sydney. Paul passed away January 21, 2024 at The Cape Breton Regional Hospital, at the age of 62 years. Paul was a son of the late Dan and Dorothy Coady (Tufts) of Glace Bay. 


Paul was born and raised in Glace Bay. Although Paul was a proud Cape Bretoner, he enjoyed many summers with his friends and relatives in Petites, NFLD, when not at the family cottage in Big Pond. In his youth Paul was an active member of the Canadian Air Cadets and travelled extensively while attending their many camps.


Paul is survived by his sister; Mary (Tom McIntyre) Edmonton, Alberta, Brothers; Bruce (Debbie) Big Pond and David, Glace Bay, and his sister-in-law Trisha (Coady) and her husband Larry Rankka. He was predeceased by his brother Dan and sister- in Law Beverly Coady. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, his Newfoundland family and his many friends. 


Paul attended St. Anne’s elementary School, St. Michael’s Senior High Schools & supported St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church. Paul was extremely proud of his involvement in the supportive organization Harvest House with his mentors; Melvin and Hazel. He was also under the guidance of the group Pathways. Paul enjoyed music, martial arts, cooking & was a trained life guard.


Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens and a celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 5th at 10am at St. Anne's Church, Main Street in Glace Bay. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery, and reception will be held in the St. Anne's Church meeting room.
