Paul Derek MacDonald

It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Paul Derek MacDonald “The Oil Man” at his home in Glace Bay on Saturday, January 21st 2023, five months shy of his 60th birthday. Paul was the owner/operator of Save-On-Fuel in Glace Bay. 

Born June 21st 1963 to Daniel Malcolm MacDonald (Donnie) and Ann Francis MacDonald (Gallant). Paul would give the shirt off his back to anyone who asked without expecting anything in return. He had a sense of humour like no other. Always joking and “carrying on”. Leaving behind to mourn his humorous spirit are his partner Carrie Lynne MacKinnon and her daughter Nichole, his children: Megan Rumbolt (Tyson), Paulina MacInnis (Colin), and Riley MacDonald (Brianna). One grandchild: Nolan Rumbolt. His siblings, Shawn MacDonald (Dawn), Melina Buchanan (Scott), Ann Margaret MacDonald and one brother in infancy. Nieces and nephews: Tracy, Cassandra, Blaise, and Wade. Paul had numerous cousins, many friends made over the years and his faithful customers.

 In lieu of flowers, please make someone laugh.

 There will be no service.  Cremation has taken place by Forest Haven Memorial Gardens & Crematory.
