Raymond Howell born Oct 4, 1956 in New Waterford, NS, died peacefully at home on November 19 th with his wife Rose Anne by his side.
Raymond was a Red Seal industrial electrician and worked for Devco for 24 years. He was proud of his high skills and continuing the coal miner tradition of his father and the “Waterford” community. Many will remember Ray as an avid car guy. His passion for finding interesting cars, upgrading and perfecting them became a life-long hobby especially if they were GM’s. When he put his special touch to one it was on to the next one.

Ray’s cars were sought out by many over the years Ray was predeceased by his parents Dellie and Dominic Howell. He is survived by his wife Rose Anne Poirier, his siblings: Mickey (Beverly), Lelia, Philomena (Jody), Margaret, and David (Pamela). To his nieces and nephews he was Ray Ray. He enjoyed spending time with them sharing stories from the pit, his motorcycle travels, or generously sharing his wisdom on an array of topics.
Ray struggled with his health for several years. Through it all his dry humor and quick wit continued to entertain Rose Anne, dear friend Sue, special niece Jess along with “Ray’s Girls” Karen, Evelyn (deceased), Chelsie, Sharon and Rosie while they made his life comfortable and interesting.

As per his wishes, there will be no service but donations can be made to the Salvation Army, one of Ray’s preferred charities.
