Stanley 'Roddy' Gordon Seward

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley (Roddy) Gordon Seward, on December 9th 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital .  

Stanley was born, and lived his life in Sydney Mines where he could often be found at the town hall visiting with the police officers and firemen. Stanley was a kind and gentle soul, who was well known, and well liked by everyone.  

Stanley is survived by brothers: Capt. Edwin (Hughena) Seward , Larder Lake ON, Melvin Seward, Sydney , Charles Seward , Sydney and Peter Seward , Ohio US Foster brother Russell Ashe , Alberta and Foster sister Alma (Ashe) Jarrett, Halifax , and niece , Tammi Seward , Larder Lake ON. 

Stanley was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Margaret Seward, and his foster parents, Russell (Buck) Ashe and Alma (Nugent) Ashe.  

We would like to thank the staff at the Braemore Home, and the doctors and nurses on the 4th floor and palliative care unit at the regional hospital.  Cremation has taken place and burial will take place at a later date.
