The world is a little less bright today. Sue left this world peacefully 8 April 2025, after bravely battling Lewy Body Dementia for the last number of years.
Dementia may have taken her vocabulary, but it never took her kindness. It is said that a person needs 4 hugs a day for survival, 8 for maintenance and 12 for growth. Sue believed that the number of hugs required in a day was 47! And if you were lucky enough to be in her presence, she made sure you got them.
Sue was born in Trinidad and lived in Venezuela as a child before her parents decided to follow the oil and move the entire family to Edmonton in the middle of winter. It was quite a shock to her system.
Sue spent her working years as a Registered Nurse both in Edmonton and then Neil’s Harbour before transitioning to manage the Glenghorm Beach Resort gift shop. After retirement, Sue and Peter left Ingonish and moved to Baddeck where they enjoyed spending as much time as they could on the Bras D’or Lakes, always looking for a new swimming hole or walking Inverness beach in search of sea glass.
Left to miss her are her loving husband Peter, son John (Dana), siblings Charles (Dianne), John (Barb) and Elizabeth (Donald), her Uncle Michael, nieces, nephews and wonderful circle of friends.
Cremation has taken place.
