Thelma Wilson

We the family of Thelma Regina Wilson, regret to announce her passing on February 1, 2022 at the age of 88 at Taigh Na Mara, Glace Bay. Thelma was born in Port Morien to Cyril Sr. and Florence Barro. She was an elementary teacher until her retirement. She was also a member of St. John’s United Church.

Thelma is survived by her sisters Eileen Pettipas, Bertha Kennedy, Florence (Terry) Butts, her brothers Cyril Barro (Pauline) and her sister-in-law Valerie Barro who was Thelma’s best friend and super caregiver. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Harold Barro.

Thelma had resided at Taigh Na Mara for the past five years. We wish to thank all the staff for the wonderful care she received there.

As per Thelma’s wishes, there will no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
