Thomas Allan Head

On a beautiful Sunday morning the angels came to carry a special husband, father, and grandfather home, with his family gathered around him. Thomas Alan Head, 62, son of the late Tom and Rose Head of New Waterford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 10th, 2023. It was Tommy’s wish to be in his home with his family near him.

Tommy is survived by his wife Lorraine (Woods) Head. His pride and joy, his two sons; Jonathan Woods and his children Jackelyn, Summer, Ariah, and Zoey (Angie Crawley) and Adam (Chantal) Woods and his sons Lucas and Parker. His grandchildren were the joy of Pa’s life and always made him smile whenever they were around. Tommy is also survived by his brothers Ray (Alma) and Bradley (Gina), and his sister Linda (Sandy) Harte, sisters-in-law Sharon (Wilf; deceased) Hines, Norma (Sheldon) MacDonald, and Evelyn McLeod, along with several nieces and nephews.

Aside from his parents, Tommy was predeceased by his in-laws Jack and Evelyn Woods, and brothers-in-law Raymond, Leonard, Albert and Bill Woods.

Tommy’s happiest times were when he was on his boat lobster fishing. In the summer he and Lorraine spent a lot of time camping and fishing in the highlands. In the fall he spent his time in the woods hunting. He was a member of the Army Navy Air Force, Unit 217, in New Waterford, and played darts there for many years.

The family would like to thank the palliative care nurses and doctors who took wonderful care of Tommy while he was in the hospital and at home. Also, the VON nurses who came to the house to make sure he was comfortable at all times.

There will be no wake or service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
