Walter Joseph Wall

February 12, 1965 — December 1, 2024

Glace Bay

It is with unimaginable sorrow that we the family of Joey Wall announce his passing on Dec. 1 at the age of 59.

Joey leaves behind his loving wife, Michelle of 38 years and his dog, Midnight, that he enjoyed taking for drives in his beloved truck. Also surviving is his brother, Fred (Charmaine), Sisters; Delores, Marie (Wayne), Wilma (Wayne), Paula (Perry), Sister in laws;Mary (Darcy), Nadine (Bobby), Brother-in-laws;Michael (Doreen), Matthew (Katherine) and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Joey was predeceased by parents, Agnes and Bill Wall; brothers, Pat, Gerald; sisters, Lillian, Elly, Patricia, Elaine, Elizabeth Ann, niece-Patricia, brother-in-laws, Bud and Frank, sister-in laws, Kathy and Marlane.

Joey grew up in Glace Bay where he enjoyed many activities. He enjoyed riding his ATV in the woods with his wife, Michelle and family. He loved golfing and his yearly golf trips with the boys. Joey loved going out on the ice and getting his first feed of smelts every year or at least tried to. He always shared his catch of the day with friends and family.

Joey’s work ethic was impeccable. His first job started out as a baker for Buns Master Bakery and then he shifted gears and worked many years at Seaview Manor in the maintenance department. Although, he continued to show off his baking skills there as well. Joey was very smart and a true go-getter ready to tackle any problem he encountered.

Joey’s third job was being a comedian although he was never paid for his quick wit and humor. Anyone who knew Joey would know that he had a great comeback for everything.

Joey had a heart of gold and would spread kindness wherever he went. He always went above and beyond helping anyone who needed it.

Joey was a wonderful person that left a lasting impression on everyone he met with his fantastic sense of humor, his kindness and his beautiful smile.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the doctors and nurses on floor 4C and special thanks to the staff in Palliative care at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

As per Joey’s wishes, there will be a private family service only.
