William Charles Sherwood

William Charles Sherwood, 71, of Sydney passed away on November 19th, 2023, surrounded by love. Billy was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Hazel Sherwood.

He is survived by his children; Erin (Kevin), Adam and Kyle, Grandchildren; Keigan, Courtney, Kiersten, Jayd, Kayleigh, Daniel, Chloe, Tatum and Nash. Siblings Nancy (Jim) Muise, Geri Lutz, Roy (Pat) Sherwood, Joan (Ray) Johnston, Phyllis (Jim) Sherwood and Gail (Gary) Sherwood. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy was a private man. However, when it came to his grandchildren, he was King. He instilled in them a love of laughter brought on by his quick-witted remarks and corny jokes. He shared with them a love of space and the stars and some even inherited his love of reading. He showed them that going on an adventure was as easy as going for a walk to the grocery store or just because you needed some fresh air. Movie nights with granddad were sure to be a time with air mattresses, pizza, junk food and none of the usual restrictions “mom and dad” would have in place. His love for his grandchildren lives on in the memories they now share of their time with him.

In respecting Dad’s wishes there will be no service and cremation has taken place under the guidance of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
