Robinson, William “Buddy” - Howie Centre
It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of William “Buddy” Robinson on January 12, 2020. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 61 years Mary (nee) Kinslow, his beloved children Brian, Melissa (Sheldon), Wendy (Andrew) and Todd (Joanne). He was the proudest Grandpa to Jennifer (Jason), Larissa (Jordan), Corey, Caitlin, Shelby (Mitch) and Colton. Great Grandpa to Amelia, Presley, Jase, Sullivan, Myer, Miller and Sem. He was predeceased in death by his loving parents William and Matilda (Tillie) Robinson and his only sibling and sister Alma Boutilier.
Dad worked hard as an underground coal miner all of his life, from Cape Breton to Alberta and back. We all have fond memories of the many holidays driving across Canada. Mom, Dad and the four kids (plus a dog) crammed into the car. He was the ultimate tour guide and never missed a bronze plaque along the Trans-Canada Highway where he insisted we all had to pile out and have a geography lesson. He was a proud Canadian. During our many years in Grande Cache, AB there was snowmobiling, fishing and lots of outdoor adventures. We were fortunate that we had the best dad and that he left us with such wonderful memories.
Our sorrow will never match the love and pride that he extended to his wife, children and grandchildren. We were all his favourites.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. There will be no service by request. A very special thanks to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Dr. K MacKillop and their kind neighbours Craig and Liz…. We appreciate all of your help. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. Online condolences may be made at www.foresthaven.ca
